Where a company is structured under a sole proprietorship business model, the personal information may include names, contact information, other identification numbers, financial information, personal views and opinions and signatures.

Class of Individuals: Representatives of sole proprietorship companies that produce, import, export or purchase the goods which are the subject of the general economic inquiry, counsel and trade consultants.

Purpose: The personal information is for use by the Tribunal in exercising its jurisdiction to hear and dispose of general economic inquiries. Personal information is collected pursuant to the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Act.

Consistent Uses: Information will be provided to the parties to the file so that they may make their cases before the Tribunal. The names of the parties and witnesses appear in the Tribunal's reasons for recommendation which are published on the Tribunal's Web site. In addition, should the recommendation be subject to judicial review, a copy of the file may be provided to the appropriate court of law, as directed. Confidential information is only provided to counsel who have filed a confidentiality undertaking. Information may be disclosed to bailiff companies in order to serve subpoenas as required.
